Dale Keys, from Penn, Wolverhampton, with the monster burger at Smokeys in WalsallIt contains more than three pounds of minced beef, 12 rashers of bacon, a dozen slices of cheese and 12 onion rings.
This monster burger is being served up at a new restaurant in the Black Country and bosses there believe it could be one of the biggest on offer in Europe. It is on the menu at Smokeys, which has opened in an empty building in Walsall, creating new jobs.
So far, two workers have been taken on at the Station Street venue, while there are future plans to offer apprenticeships and one day make it into a chain.
The new business has been created by a partnership of four friends; Dean Keys and his brother Dale Keys, David Corr and John Cadrick were inspired by shows such as Man vs Food and trips to America.
But it is the monster burger that is proving the talking point, with no diners so far completing the challenge of eating the 12-inch burger in an hour.
