CLEVELAND, OH - Clevelandâs Lake Erie Monsters announced additional details today regarding the teamâs first-ever outdoor game to be played against the Rochester Americans at Frontier Field, home of Triple A Baseballâs Rochester Red Wings on Friday, December 13th at 7:05 p.m. The game, previously announced in August, will be the feature attraction of the ten day Greater Rochester Area Honda Dealers Frozen Frontier presented by Labatt.
During todayâs Veterans Day game in Rochester, the official Frozen Frontier jerseys for both the Monsters and Amerks were unveiled during a pregame ceremonial puck drop featuring military veterans from the OASIS Adaptive Sports ice skating program. The Monsters âCLEVELANDâ sweaters were inspired by the version worn by the 1937 Cleveland Barons, their first year in the American Hockey League. Replica Monsters jerseys will be made available for sale to Monsters Hockey Club members on Wednesday, November 13th through an exclusive online presale. Jerseys will go on sale to the general public at a later date. Visit for the latest updates.
The actual game worn Cleveland jerseys from the Frozen Frontier will be donned again by the team in Cleveland on Saturday, January 25 when the Monsters take on the Hamilton Bulldogs during the teamâs annual âCleveland Rocks Nightâ presented by PNC Bank. These game-worn sweaters will then be auctioned off after the game, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Monsters Community Fund. This will be one of seven specialty game worn jersey auctions during the 2013-14 season.
Fans can still have the opportunity to secure a very limited number of tickets on the exclusive bus trip to the Frozen Frontier. The official traveling caravan of the Monsters to the Frozen Frontier includes round-trip transportation, lunch on the bus, a brewery tour, tickets to the game, Frozen Frontier merchandise, an on-field experience and hotel accomodations. To reserve your spot, please call 216-420-0000.
Also announced today, the Frozen Frontier will be broadcast locally in Northeast Ohio on Foxâs SportsTime Ohio, with the âVoice of the Monstersâ Doug Plagens handling play-by-play duties and Cleveland Hockey legend Jock Callander on the color. The game can also be heard on the radio flagship home of the Monsters, ESPN Cleveland 850-WKNR.
